Extra Random Photos

Levitation

I took pictures of my surroundings and myself, then transferred myself from that picture of my surrounding to make it appear that I'm floating.  These pictures were taken in my room, living room, and backyard.

360 Panoramas

I rotated a full 360 degrees to get a full view of all of the surroundings around me, then stitched the photos together to create a large picture of the whole view of my neighborhood. (I only have the panorama of this stereographic because I saved over the panoramas of the others).

Stereographics

After creating a  360 degree panorama view of my surroundings, I created it into a little planet that shows the full view.

Clone Panoramas

I took three 180 degree panoramas with multiple 'clones' of myself in each one.  Both are in my house and in each one I tried to show a different emotion and personality that I convey.

Scanned Face

I placed my head over a scanner, taking a picture of my face.  Because the scanner is longer/bigger than my actual face, I had to move my face along with the scanner, therefore distorting my face to stretch it out and make it seem longer and a different shape than what it actually is.

Self Portrait Project

Most of these pictures I took at Black Butte Ranch or in my house, but my favorite picture is the last black and white one, I wasn't planning on taking a picture like that, but I had my phone sitting on a table with the camera facing up and when I leaned over to pick it up, my hair went everywhere and framed my face in a weird way, so I decided to take a picture with it like that. I think it kind of represents me and my personality, I do weird and spontaneous things that some people make fun of me for, but I try not to let their insults get to me, and I'll continue to do crazy, different things because it's a part of who I am.

Portrait Project

Shasha-
I've known Shasha for about seven years, and I met her on the first day she arrived in the United States for the first time with her adoptive parents.  She was born in China and was given up from her parents, and she has no fingers on her left hand.  Shasha is the sweetest little girl I know, and she amazes me everyday with how she has adapted to a new country and family at such a young age, and how she is capable of doing anything anyone else can do, but only having fingers on her right hand.  She rides her bike, she takes gymnastics and so much more.  I chose to take pictures of Shasha because she is an inspiration to me to always keep going and go against the odds to complete something you and other people thought you would never do.

Mom-
My mom has always been there for me, and she is always on my side.  She understands when I need my space, but is always the first one to ask if something is wrong.  Having gone through so much in her life, its incredible how she always come out of everything with a smile on her face.  She lives the same life as anyone else, but she has the greatest attitude towards everything, making her life more enjoyable and extraordinary.

Web Assignment 5:

Beauty in a photograph cannot be distinctly defined; beauty is different to every person and everyone has their own view of the world and how they perceive things that they see.  What is beautiful to one person may be disliked by someone else.  Therefore, something that is "ugly" can be photographed and then portrayed as something beautiful by someone.  Beauty and ugliness are relative terms that are used differently by everyone in their own definitions.  For example, a photo of a snake would seem gross and unappealing to me personally.  However, it may be an amazing and capturing picture to someone else who likes snakes.

"Love the life you live.  Live the life you love."

Using basic household items, I took pictures of thing that looked like letters in the alphabet in order to later create a quote only using the photographs I took.

Web Assignment 4: Alfred Stieglitz

1. Alfred Stieglitz was a well know photographer throughout the 1800 and 1900's, and he is famous for making photography an accepted form of art.
2.  The photo at left is one of his famous photographs, admire it because I love how the lights are vivid in the background, but the trees darken as the image is further away.
3. Alfred was romantically influence by Marius de Zayas, a Mexican artist, writer and art gallery owner in the early 1900's.  She was known for her New York arts circles.
